Our 17 month old male Chinese Crested looks mangy in between groomer appointments.  They don't "shave" his short spiky hairs but once a month and he has allergies (I think from not being groomed enough).  What is too often grooming?  How long do you keep the hair on his crown & down along the face?  Do you shave the "cheeks"... We've had 2 groomers turn us down because they've never groomed a hairless Chinese crested & the current one just gave him a "bowl" cut!  Help!
