Pulling on leash
I am looking for suggestions, tips, ideas, anything that may help. My husky is TERRIBLE with pulling when walking her on a leash. Along with training, I've also tried a few different collars and harnesses. As a puppy, I tried the no-pull harness with the front clip. Didn't work, she only pulled harder... like she dug in and pulled as if she was pulling a sled with people and cargo on it. At the advice of a trainer, I tried the choke collar. She still pulled and didn't seem to care that she was choking herself. He then suggested using the prong collar. I'm not a fan of it but I did try it, 1st in the yard because she doesn't pull as bad in the fenced yard. She pulled maybe twice, and then I never had a problem with it again as long as the prong collar was on, even when we were out of the yard. I switched back to a regular collar and she pulled just as bad as ever. I recently got another highly rated no-pull harness... she STILL pulls almost non-stop. It's extremely unpleasant to take her on walks and I can feel it already taking a toll on my hands, wrists, shoulder, etc. I really don't want to use the prong collar again but I feel like it may be my only option as training and other collars / harness do nothing once we leave the yard. Any ideas?
