Chewing / Destroying bed
I have a 6-year-old Siberian Husky. She has been trained in several areas and she is incredibly intelligent. There are no behavior issues inside the home, including chewing. She only chews toys that are given to her. The problem is that she thinks when I give her a new mat or bed, she thinks it too is a chew toy and destroys them. She knows they are for her to lay on and she gets so excited when she gets a new one! She will immediately jump on it and lay down but within a very short time, she starts chewing and ripping it apart. I can get her to stop at that moment but when left alone, she will ultimately destroy it and start eating the insides. She looks so sad when I have to take it away and it breaks my heart. Has anyone else had a problem with this? What has worked for you?
