Hi Everyone! In the area I live, it has become very common for businesses, insurance companies, property managers, etc to ban certain breeds of dogs. For example, when you buy a home and you are getting the required home owner's insurance, some companies will not insure you if you have certain breeds, even if it is a dog mixed with one of the mixed breeds. These are the dogs that many home insurance companies do not allow: Pit Bulls, Staffordshire Terriers, Doberman Pinschers, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Chows, Great Danes, Akitas, and Alaskan Malamutes. In one area near me, the whole town has made it illegal to own any type of Bull Terriers. Is this common practice in other areas? Have you experienced discrimination based on your breed of dog?
