Finally, we got our new pup!! We got a chocolate lab cross German shorthaired pointer. He is literally the cutest thing ever! We are hoping he has the activeness ( and lower appetite) of a pointer and the water-loving spirit of a lab. He’s extremely naughty but off to training next week 🙂
Has anyone ever used any of the products made to go either in the washer or dryer to remove pet hair from your clothing? Ex. FurZapper, pet hair remover balls (like FurBall), Bounce Pet Hair Guard Sheets, etc. If so, do they actually work?
After having a discussion with a friend today, I thought I’d reach out here and get other people’s feedback. Where do you feed your dog? Do you think it matters where you feed them? Do you think that the place where you feed them has any impact on their behavior?
Are dogs very sensitive to the emotions that humans are feeling?
I’m on a few community social platforms and it seems that every day, somebody is talking about people not picking up their dogs’ poo. Sometimes it is in their yard, sometimes it is in the grass next to the street, in the street, or in some public area. There are normally mixed responses from people divided on the subject: those that don’t see a need to pick it up and those that are furious (some violently angry) about people not picking it up. I know that it has now become a law in many places in the US and the UK. I understand that it is a problem but I just don’t get why it is creates such a hostile response from people. I don’t like dog poo in my yard but I would never be confrontational with someone over it.
Is the response so divided where you live? Do people actually commit violent acts against others because of it in your area?
Are crates essential for a puppy? Would a puppy pen be sufficient?
We will be getting a new puppy. As I work from home, I’m nervous about it becoming too attached to me which could later result in problems like separation anxiety. How do I create boundaries where the dog still feels loved and safe without it becoming too dependent on my presence? ( I’d want to be able to pop out to the shops once it’s older without it being a stressful occasion for her to be left alone)
We might be bringing home a new puppy on Sunday! What are some things you would enforce from day one to encourage good habits? I’m going to be working on meal times, toilet training, and routine! Any thing else?
